The explosion of social media is apparent in the number of new networking sites that have popped up over the past 12 months. MySpace is totally passé and Facebook is cool enough, but a networking site that offers a community based around music is an interesting idea.

3GB Communities is one such site that currently has a little more than 400 members and is growing daily. Users can upload albums for other people to listen to, so if you can find yourself a circle of online friends, you can check out what other people are listening to. It may not be on the same level as something like Last.FM just yet, but it’s one of a number of websites that I’ve been checking out as a way of networking with other people to promote my blogs.
