Angela Merkel is Ann Widdecombe
Has anyone else noticed that German Chancellor Angela Merkel looks identical to British Conservative Party MP Ann Widdecombe? I had my TV on silent a couple of days ago and saw what I thought was a story about Ann Widdecome, but it actually turned out to be about Angela Merkel. Ann Widdecombe and Angela Merkel could be twins. I’m not kidding. Look at this picture.

Which is which? I really can’t tell, and I made the image. Ann and Angela would make an awesome double act if they were to ever be on TV at the same time. It could take political comedy to a new level! Hold on. Ann Widdecombe and comedy… I’m not so sure that would work. But if people can think of Angela Merkel as a sex symbol then I guess anything is possible. Could Ann Widdecombe ever be seen as a sex symbol? I shudder at the thought.
Angela Merkel seems to be on the news every day at the moment, but I’m not so sure that Ann Widdecombe hasn’t been making a few discreet appearances when Angela needs a rest or has to be in two places at once. Have there ever been two people who look more alike?

Germans have odd sex symbols. Gerhardt Schroeder was at the top of the sexiest man list for a long time. I really don’t get it.

Ann Widdecombe resembles Angela Merkel in a before and after the truck ran over my face sort of way. I seriously urge you Matt to get your eyes checked and never, repeat never use the words “sex symbol” and “Ann Widdecombe” in the same sentence again. It sparks mental images that could permanently damage the sensitive.

Phil! Come on now! They’re practically the same person. They’ve even gone for the same hairdo.

One of my friend was the MP for Sheffield… but who cares ;-)
I like Anne Widecombe, she wrote a very nice book and Louis Theroux’s programme about her (and her Mother) was fantastic. Ok she is a cow, but so what?
