Crazed rapist in Thailand attacks women, pigs and banana trees

September 1st, 2007 by The Lost Boy

Would you rape a banana tree?Digg this story In one of the more bizarre Thailand news stories in recent months, angered villagers in Nakhon Sri Thammarat had been trying to track down a crazed, drug-addicted rapist who had been terrorizing women, dogs, pigs and banana trees.

At the end of July, newspapers in Thailand reported that local villagers got together to discuss what to do about 20-year-old inhalant-addict Aek. The young Thai man had become problematic due to his persistent attacks on women, animals and trees.

Villagers had been living in fear to the point that women refused to leave their homes at night, while children were kept under lock and key, out of reach of gas-head Aek.

Female workers were too afraid to go about their daily business in the early hours of the morning, and as a result, many simply stayed at home.

Aek was known as an introverted character who had no friends and kept himself to himself. News reports said that among his personal belongings were a sword and a two-meter long metal pole, both of which he carried with him at all times.

In his attacks on people, Thailand’s strangest criminal would wait until a woman was home alone and then jump onto the roof and force his way into the house by removing tiles. So low in character, Aek recently raped a mother who had just given birth.

Despite numerous vigilante squads, news reports across Thailand, and Thai police and villagers knowing his identity, Aek had been at large for several months. Villagers had reported that Aek had also forced himself on their dogs, pigs and banana trees, making him Thailand’s first plant rapist.

Outside Aek’s house in Southern Thailand, Thailand newspapers reported about 10 banana trees with holes cut in them around waste height that Aek allegedly used to pleasure himself with.

On August 27, women, animals and trees in Nakhon Sri Thammarat breathed a sigh of relief as Aek was finally arrested, reported Thailand newspaper Kom Chad Luek.

Police found Aek in a hut writing on the floor about his love for having sex with cows, another first for Thailand.

The last time police had tried to catch Aek, he had evaded them by taking all his clothes off and running across a field in his underwear. This time, police were lucky as they had the field surrounded, as various Thai newspapers reported.

The crazed rapist is now being held in police custody.

“Everybody does it,” was Aek’s response to questioning of his antics.

I should not laugh about this story, but this is by far the funniest thing I have read on here.

The guy is definitely mental. He needs to be sent to a psychiatric hospital.

Plant rapist? My stomach is hurting from laughing.

first i was thinking this ‘news is fake, a hoax. read it on thaivisa.com with DPA as a source. didn’t believe that. google search, and until now no reliable media jumps on that story.
but okay search with keywords in thai language i found it.

look on the meta level. what i found crazy or strange on this story is the representation. okay, this man have some unusual masturbation technique. as we all know masturbation is normal and i don’t mind if someone just use his hands, a vegetable, a erotic toy or some trees in front of the house. nobody rapes a cucumber or carrot, a warermelon nor a banana tree.
but this man rapes women, human beings and putting this in a headline together with that banana trees is worse then only bad journalism. everybody make fun and mock about the tree part of the story. the real victims, the women you put on par withs pigs and trees.

  5. PeterS Says:

Well, raping banana trees is not really bothering me, but raping women or animals. Even a woman who just gave birth you say? My god… they should hang him on his balls for about a week or two.

@Peter: I don’t really see who is putting women on par with pigs and trees. Stating that all three groups were victim, does not mean you think all groups are equal.

  6. vanalli Says:

Peter, nobody is putting women on a par with pigs or trees. Nobody is condoning rape. All the facts are reported. If you actually read the story you’d see that it was the villagers who said that he had been attacking their trees and animals.

In the dorm days, we used to get rubber cleaning gloves rolled in a towel…add a little water based lubricant, and it was as good as it got in those virgin days….but my wakadacky, a tree??? perhaps a really ripe fruit could be tender enough to…there I go…never mind, all condolences to the real victims.

  8. peter Says:

yes matt, i actually read the story that “Thailand newspapers reported about 10 banana trees” and all that and that women has been raped also. of course you don’t putting women on par with trees. if there hadn’t been any trees in that article it wouldn’t be any story at all, newsworthy with a big digg this button.

i just was to lazy to explain my point in a more detailed version what i find wrong here. i thought is quite obvious that.

but i realise that we don’t understand each other. in my world is it not normal to published a story about raping woman and illustrate that with a picture of a banana tree found on the google image search. i would call that rubbish journalism and stupid pubescent humour. and specially should that not occur in a place that got some reputation in wider circles and labelled themself “Your one stop guide to Thailand. Everything from news to nightlife.”

also in my world would it be impious and uncouth to left a remark like “I think it will be an interesting time for us bloggers!” in regard the death of a person. and given the fact that is not any random person but you should know who completely insane.

i could try to explain it to you, why is that my opinion or a DON’T DO in my world, but i have no idea where to begin and you would just think i patronizing you.
i don’t understand you and you don’t understand me. we are coming from different cultures, socialized in a different way and have a different education. sometimes i tend to forget that when i am talking with other people, that they have other values and ethical qualities. i should be more considerate.

for you is it all normal and nothing wrong with it, and is all alone my fault and my deficit that i am not able to understand you.

  9. vanalli Says:

So you wouldn’t find anything interesting in how bloggers would attempt to deal with an event of such magnitude? Get over yourself Peter.

This is a blog, not a newspaper.

This was an odd news story and I’ve posted it as such. It would still have been reported in the press if there were no trees, but the whole story is different. Why can’t you see that? You’re being ridiculous.

It may not live up to your high standards of journalism, but I actually didn’t find much funny about this story. You know the villagers nicknamed the guy “Banana tree Aek”. That’s not a press invention.

You’re getting far too worked up about this and your arrogance and self-righteousness is astounding.
