Karaoke killer fesses up

March 13th, 2008 by The Lost Boy

A man who allegedly killed eight people at his neighbour’s house has cited their terrible singing as the motivation behind his killing spree. The accused killer apparently lost it after hearing unbearable renditions of songs including John Denver’s “Country Roads”.

The suspected gunman was so livid with his neighbour’s massacring of songs that he didn’t even notice that he had shot his own brother-in-law.

“When I began shooting nobody pleaded for his life because they were all drunk,” he said.

“I warned these people about their noisy karaoke parties. I said if they carried on I would go down and shoot them,” he added.

There are lessons to be learnt here, John Denver fans.

And what about the Australian woman who killed her husband because he did not like Bruce Springsteen?

she killed him because she was tired of hearing again and again that she should not listen to Bruce….

That’s kind of scary knowing some people would actually go on a rampage over something like this. I’ve been known to have get-togethers with loud and drunk singing in my Bangkok apartments, and sure neighbors probably get irritated, but I would never think something like this would happen. Though, the guy did say he warned for them to shut up. If it ever got to the point of a Thai actually expressing displeasure, I’d probably take that as my queue, for it takes a lot to for a Thai to put his/her face on the table, particularly with large groups of people.
