Sam Burns from Kid Insane

I interviewed Sam from Kid Insane this week. This is a quote from the interview that I didn’t use in the final article. I’ll post the article up early next week.
“The most scared I have ever been? Tough. I think I was skiing in France one time, and being a speed freak, I love going fast and doing huge jumps. I had found the ultimate ski jump: It was the kind professionals use for acrobatics. I had a huge run up and before I went there was even a warning sign. A pro went over the jump and did a double somersault landing perfectly on the other side. At this point I am still not scared. I went down the slope towards the jump at top speed. Went over the jump. Still not scared. My skis start to creep forward and up, my body position moving to the horizontal. Now I am shitting my pants.
“Prior to this unfortunate event I had dislocated my shoulder on several occasions due to rugby, so I knew what kind of excruciating pain I was in for. I knew this and that is why I was so scared. Because I was in mid-air for so long, I had quite a long time to think about these things. What did I do to overcome this fear? I crash landed in the most spectacular way you could think of. I must have flown through the air 25 metres and rolled another 10 metres. Oh my god, the pain. That’s all, I don’t wanna say anymore. My shoulder felt like it was coming out of my arse it was dislocated so far out.”
