If you’re into celeb spotting and you live in Phuket, you’ve probably been itching to see someone more interesting than an off-his-face Pete Doherty. The good news is that Madonna is apparently looking at properties in Phuket, possibly in Kamala Bay. Word is that she hasn’t bought anything yet but there’s a good chance she will. I think Madonna would enjoy living in Thailand, what with all that yoga and meditation she does. She must have a lot of money in her retirement fund after the $250 million she pocketed from her Confessions Tour.
Madonna, who has been selflessly standing up for poverty and Aids in recent months, chose to appear on stage during her Confessions Tour wearing an orange blouse and a crown of thorns while attached to a crucifix. She did all of this while images of the Aids crisis in Africa were shown on a screen to a perplexed audience. This was apparently Madonna’s plea for us to see the world as a unified whole. I wouldn’t say that was the first thing that came into my mind when I saw the images.
Madonna is no stranger to controversy: in 1986 she danced in front of burning crosses in the video for ‘Like a Prayer’. Same old, same old. She’s a publicity whore. Last year she wanted us all to know how caring she is when she visited orphanages in Malawi, but nobody was sure whether or not she was going to take one of the children home. She did donate $3 million dollars to the cause, and don’t we all know it. Bravo Madonna, and welcome to Thailand.
I quite like Madonna, full of herself but
seems like a genuine enough person who isn't afraid of telling it lie it is. Just wish she'd try less hard to be controversial.
