Though things appear to have returned to normal in Bangkok, they might, in actuality, be only just beginning. Once again, the Thai premier is urging people in the city to be cautious. From The Nation today:
Surayud said Bangkok's major transport centres would remain under heightened surveillance to prevent further attacks, but warned Thais should brace themselves for new threats. "The public should be prepared to deal with this new kind of threat to our lives in the future," he said.
I have also received a warning that there will be more bombings in Bangkok this Saturday. I can’t speak for the reliability of the source (though the source itself raises some issues), but I’ve become aware of a number of people who are a little anxious about the coming weekend.
Wherever you go, take care.
