My first blog carnival: definitely worth a try
I’ve just participated in my first blog carnival, and damn, it was so easy I don’t why I haven’t been doing this sort of thing more before. Not only is the whole experience kind of fun, but it’s really productive for driving traffic to your blog.
Firstly, what is a blog carnival? Well, until fairly recently I wasn’t exactly sure. A blog carnival is a blog post based on a theme. The one I have just entered is called The Carnival of the Storytellers. How it works is simple: the host of the carnival announces the carnival; then bloggers submit to the carnival host a relevant link to one of their posts (in this case it was a story I wrote a while ago); once the host has weeded out what will and will not make the cut, he makes a blog post with short descriptions and links to all the stories/blogs that have participated (this is the carnival). So you not only get a link back to your blog, but you open up the door for hundreds, if not thousands, of people to get to your blog.
The host will promote his own carnival, the people who participate will do likewise, all driving traffic towards the carnival and onto the blogs. If you’re a blogger in Thailand then you must have heaps of interesting, quirky stories that would surely be worth submitting to a carnival. Heck, it’s so easy that you could do one a day. In fact, you should do one a day.
But where do you find out about blog carnivals? That’s easy as well. Just go to the Blog Carnival website, sign up, browse the extensive list and start submitting.
As for my first carnival, well, that can be found here, hosted by Digital Rich.

'sup Matt? I once tried to start an Expat Blog Carnival, but I got lazy, and it never got off the ground. Cool idea though.
