Naked Japanese girls in ramen restaurant shocker
I was eating at a ramen restaurant a couple of weeks ago with a friend of mine. It was in Thong Lor, down soi 13 and then take the first left. It’s the second restaurant on the right. The food was great and there were the usual ecstatic cries in Japanese every time anyone came in or left. I noticed a guy sat at the counter reading a comic. The comic was a little larger than the Thai ones you see people reading on the BTS, but I thought nothing of it. My gaze shifted to a table of Japanese girls briefly and then the man left. He dropped his comic off on top of a large pile by the entrance (which was next to where I was sitting).
Drawn to the face of a Japanese girl on the cover, I picked up the comic to take a look. It was more like a magazine than anything. When I opened it I was a little surprised, and then amused, to see pictures of naked Japanese girls. It was a porn mag! In a restaurant! I couldn’t believe it. There were some comics in the magazine, mostly hentai, but the thrust of the publication was naked Japanese girls, more often than not wearing some kind of uniform.
I looked at some of the other “comics” in the stack, and sure enough, there were naked girls in almost every one of them. I knew the Japanese have a reputation for being a bit kinky, but I never would have guessed they’d be keen on looking at porn over a bowl of miso ramen. Is this normal in Japan? Having never been, I can only speculate. The restaurant was by no means seedy, and the man reading the magazine looked fairly well-to-do and didn’t appear to have been particularly excited by the young flesh on display.
I banished the thoughts of naked girls from my mind and concentrated on finishing my dinner. [Mental note: go to Japan.]

Well, these are people who actually make cartoon porn, right? How does anyone manage to get off on cartoon porn? Maybe you have to be a guy to understand. I like the look of real flesh thank you very much (though perhaps not while I’m slurping a bowl of noodles).

Can’t see anything wrong with naked Japanese women but no, not in cartoon format and probably not with my noodles. I’m sure you can get porn from vending machines in Japan, unless that’s a myth. Those crazy Japanese are certainly unique!

This comment is pretty late…Anyhow, I live in Japan and it’s normal to see men reading porn on the train. I’ve been living here for awhile so I’m not shocked anymore. I’ll sit down, glance over at the newspaper a man is reading and I’m not surprised to see a little girl on girl action right next to the sports page. I’m not sure if this is really accepted, it feels like everyone sees it but just doesn’t say anything. They probably think those guys are all perverts, at least I hope so.

Hi, I just came upon this blog by accident but couldn’t help laughing at the xenophobic comments made by poster 9100. He either doesn’t know anything about Japanese porn, or he is lying.
First of all, people in the west do not read porn in public places like trains and cafes like you can see everywhere in Japan. Maybe 9100 has no idea since he has never been to the West. Does that surprise you 9100?
Unfortunately, Japan is overflowing with porn. As a byproduct of this, Japan has a huge and very well organized sex industry (called Fuzoku). I have traveled to many other countries, but never seen such large scale sexual perversity so openly accepted and displayed as it is in Japan.
Anyways, to get back to the point, poster 9100 mentioned that it is illegal to show genitalia in Japanese porn. While that is true within Japan, it is very easy to get around that rule by just filming outside of Japan, etc. It’s ironic to talk about the legality of it all when its just another Yakuza-run industry.
