An uneventful Saturday

Today was an uneventful day in which I upgraded my computer and went to an anti-coup protest (story to follow tomorrow). Neither of these events were quite as exciting as I had hoped they would be, but my computer now kicks ass. I bought an extra 512 MB of RAM and a Seagate external 80 GB hard drive.

I’m almost certain I paid too much for the hard drive, but I need it to back my internal drive up and store my expanding iTunes folder. Only thing I am worried about though is that it is not new. It has someone else’s photos on it. Not that I’m complaining as I cannot be bothered to take it back, but the last thing I want is a drive failure. I’ve already managed to unplug it without ejecting it properly (which is, apparently, the primary reason for drive failure).

If only True could supply me a broadband service that moves a little faster than the glacially slow pace it seems to have settled for. I’m downloading at 35 KB/s. Max! It’s so frustrating.

It’s Saturday night and I have decided to stay home and chill. Bunny is here but she has just gone to sleep. It’s been an interesting week and I’ve learnt a few valuable lessons. I have much work to do tomorrow.

So I may not get to write for the magazine I really want to get involved with, but this is just par for the course of setbacks that seem to crop up every now and then. I just have to work around it and make the most of the opportunities I’ve got. I complain too much, but I reassure myself about this by thinking I only do it because I set my sights ludicrously high. I also think the world owes me something, but that’s another story.

It feels refreshing not to be out partying tonight. Too much of the party lifestyle has left me broke and tired. The parties can wait until next week. Incidentally, myself and my good friend Will are organizing a brand new event at Jazzit. Wrong Disco is going to be a lot of fun. Check the page for details. Even Gnarly Kitty is going to come.
