Lustful monk disrobed in Pattaya forest
Girls, next time you see a monk who gives you a smile, be careful you don’t fall madly in love with him and start a passionate affair underneath an umbrella. Impossible, you might think, but not in Pattaya.
Wanna Gaew-Keaw, 43, took a shine to Pra Roe Suphawaroe, 49, and apparently the feeling was mutual as the monk asked his lady friend to accompany him into a forest for a secret rendezvous.
The pair began drinking, one thing led to another and before K. Wanna had chance to blink, the monk was disrobed, in more ways than one.
Police alerted to the scene put an end to the shenanigans and arrested the amorous couple.
Pra Roe Suphawaroe, known once again as Roe Phonork, will no longer be able to be a monk and will marry his sweetheart.
Does anyone have any more stories of drunk and disorderly monks? This one came from Pattaya Daily News.

Just walk in the street of Bangkok and you will see monks smocking, eating after 12PM, drinking sweet drinks 9to compensate for food), carrying dead animals for their lunch, handling money (even putting in on their bank account, I saw that in the post office only two days ago) , not mentioning the craze with the Jatukarm Ramathep…
Buddhism is in a dire state in Thailand. Monks have turned into temple’s merchants, predicting lottery numbers, indulging in superstitious practice and selling amulets. No surprise that monks like Pra Dhammachayo have attracted a large following, mostly of educated and well-off Thais.
If the next Buddha happened to come in our lifetime, I doubt it will be in Thailand!

there was that monk sometime last year who was supposedly raping girls in the temple and filming in, to blackmale the girls not to tell anyone or he’d release it online, one girl finally told and he got arrested. The media made it a big point that he was an import Karen monk from burma or something like that…
I love the philosophy of Buddhism in essence, but the Thai Sangha can eat a big giant dik as they are no better than the catholic church or any other organised religion for that matter.
Buddhism should not be an orderly religion that authorities need get involved if no real crime has been broken–it’s just a path that one man took and suggested for you. If you don’t follow it right, than you don’t get enlightened like he supposedly did. It’s not intended to be something with cardinals and big monks making sure you’re strictly following rules, where you should be incriminated or looked down on if you’re not. but then again… religion always ends up that way.
