Sixty-one people died at Sanitka on New Year's Eve. I've been to Sanitika many times and I spent one New Year there three or four years ago. I have no idea whether friends or friends of friends were then on New Year. People, get in touch.

I have same feeling like you for the friends if they were on the spot at new year night.

I hope all your friends are safe. Thankfully none of my family were affected. My cousin was getting married in Bangkok over the US holidays, so a lot of the family was there.

A friend of mine barely escaped the fire..but what a tragic start of 2009.
