I think you’ve got the wrong number

April 23rd, 2007 by The Lost Boy

I’m not sure why this occurs, but pretty much every week I get at least one or two calls to my cellphone from people who have dialed the wrong number. I’ve had at least three different numbers in Thailand, and each time I’ve experienced the same thing. It’s almost always a Thai person calling from another cellphone, and more often than not they will call a handful of times and try and speak to someone other than myself. When I was in England I never received calls from people dialing a wrong number. I find it especially strange that it occurs with people dialing from cellphones, as opposed to payphones where you might expect the occasional mistake. Why does this happen so much? And why does it always seem to happen at bizarre hours of the morning? This is one mystery I don’t think I’ll ever get to the bottom of.

you know what i do? pick up the phone and just keep them on the line like that, wasting their money. one time i did it and the person apparently dialed my number accidentally without knowing and he was on for like 20 mins before realising it.

spooky, just happened to me right now, but your right as it happens at least once a week

Pay as you go numbers are re-used regularly, or so I was told when I had the same annoying problem. I guess it just takes a little time for people to realise the number is no longer the one they want.
The colour is getting better, looking good.

    Hi Matt,

the comment preview is brilliant. New layout is much cleaner and the picture much better.

It’s all good! Do you use a prepaid cellphone or is it something a little more high end? My company gave me a quick ass number chip and I barely have a miss call now. Only once every couple of months. When I had a prepaid chip, it was much much more frequent. That would confirm LOE explanation.

By the way, Did you manage to get this dual boot running?

As for my blog, http://translate.google.com does a good job. The translation is terrible as usual but it’s possible to get a global understanding.
